Camping with Mya, Brianna & Adam!

Paul and I took Mya, Brianna and Adam camping over night at Boca Springs, which is between Donner Lake and Reno, just off I-80. We had a wonderful memorable time. We will definitely take our grandchildren camping again.
First we met Leslie in Truckee with the kids and had Pizza for dinner. Then we loaded Mya, Brianna and Adam into our car with their camping stuff and headed for the campground. We found our spot and it was ideal. We were in a secluded camp site that was very nice (#2 at Boca Springs Campground) and there was a little stream near by that the kids played and played in. They used the fishing poles there, thinking they might catch a fish, but it definitely was too small but they had a great time anyway. We then made a campfire and roasted marshmallows. I forgot the chocolate for smores, so we ate the smores without the chocolate. (I didn't even know they knew what smores were.) When the marshmallows were roasted they asked for the chocolate and the graham crackers. All we had were the graham crackers, so we ate then like that. Then when the stars were finally out we went on a Midnight hike, a short walk really because they were a little bit afraid of walking in the dark. Each had a flashlight and we got a short ways from the campsite and Paul told the story of the creation of the world and the beautiful things Heavenly Father made. We walked a lot of the way back to the campsite in the moonlight because it was so bright. Adam kept saying noon! Noon! (meaning moon of course.) We got ready for bed and turned a movie on in the tent for the kids. They had a great time giggling and playing. Finally it was about 11:30 and Paul and I were all tucked in, lights were out and Brianna pipes up "I need to go potty"! So, Paul got up with her and took her to a make shift outhouse and forgot to take the tissues with. I hear these running footsteps back to camp and then I hear Brianna in a very afraid voice calling for grandpa. He ran back up to her and all was fine. It was a cold night, but it didn't seem to phase anyone but Paul. The kids woke up at 7:15 and we got up and had cinnamon rolls and poptarts and capri sun drinks. We packed light to make it easy for us. After cleaning up the camp and packing the car we went to the lake and played for a few hours. It was wonderful, but the water was a little cool, so they didn't stay in it too long. We headed down to Reno and stopped at Taco Bell for lunch. That was a fun experience too. Then off to their apartment to baby sit all of the kids so Leslie and Jason could go out for their anniversary. Seven years! Congratulations! Adam went down for a nap, Paul took the girls to the swimming pool and I played with Madelyn. When they girls were done swimming, we had a picnic in their living room. We had such a wonderful time. But we left a little earlier than planned. We were so tired we didn't stay for the fireworks. We decided we needed to get home in one piece. Mya was pretty disappointed, but we knew we needed to leave so we could stay awake.
